We are getting closer to making Bella’s Engagement Ring a reality. We don’t have a release date set, yet, but here are some questions you may have on your mind and their appropriate answers, brought to you in the very popular and nearly cliche’ Q and A format.

A. Hey! Alright, I get your point. Put those away, okay? Alright, the costs are going to depend on which version of the ring you want to buy. So let me break this down in a nice table.

Q. What materials will it be made out of?
A. The table above pretty much answers that, so let me embellish a little on the details.
First, the Fashion ring is simply that. It is designed to be more like costume jewelry. The ring is a 14K Gold-plated metal alloy that will not turn your skin green, and the “diamonds” are Swarovski Rhinestones. This version of the ring is available in full sizes only; we will not be offering it in half-size increments.
The Fine ring is made of solid 14K Gold and embedded with Cubic Zirconias. You may have heard of CZ before, but in case you’re not familiar with it, it’s a crystal mineral often used as a substitute for diamond. More information can be found on Wikipedia. This version of the ring will be available in full sizes, with half-sizes available as special orders.
The Genuine ring is, as its name implies, the genuine article. Like the Fine ring, it’s made of solid 14K Gold through and through, but what sets this apart from the other two is the fact that we’re using 1.20 tcw diamonds. TCW means Total Carat Weight, and is a measure of the weight of all of the diamonds used in the ring (not the weight of each diamond). This piece is a true, honest-to-goodness fine quality ring, suitable for use as an actual engagement ring!

Q. Signature Edition?
A. Like our Bella’s Bracelet product, we intend to offer a limited edition version of the ring that will be numbered and include a special certificate of authenticity personally signed by Stephenie Meyer. I can’t mention the total number of Signature Editions that we will have to offer, but they will be available. And just like the SE bracelet, once the SE rings are gone, they will not be offered again.
Now that I have provided you with valuable information about the ring, we need help from you. We have a survey that will help us gather a couple of bits of information from you, and we’d really like it if you could mosey on over to our survey web site and take it. We need to know the general ring sizes to expect, and which version of the ring you are most likely to purchase. Instructions and the tools needed to determine your ring size are included on the opening page of the survey.

UPDATE: We are very grateful for the response we’ve received on our Bella’s Engagement Ring survey. So far, we’ve had over 1,500 response, which is incredible. Here are the results so far as of May 11 at 12:50 AM:
Total interested in purchasing the Fashion version: 1,225.
Total interested in purchasing the Fine version: 187.
Total interested in purchasing the Genuine version: 162.
We know that being “interested” and actual ability or intention to purchase are two different things, but I think the numbers speak for themselves; there’s definitely an interest, here. Just thought y’all might like to know.
UPDATE UPDATE: We have received a few questions about the ring that I think I should address now.
1. Will we be posting pictures of the ring?
As soon as I receive images from our jeweler, who has the equipment necessary to take great photos to do this fine piece some justice, I will make them available. For the moment, we only have pictures of the prototype, which were only used for conceptual photos for Stephenie. They are not good enough to show off the piece to the public.
2. Will the ring have the same problems that have been experienced by a few of those who bought the bracelet?
By “problems” we presume you mean the issues of the heart pendant falling off of some of the bracelets. First, let me say that this is not the same type of jewelery. The bracelet has “dangly bits” which are subject to catching on clothing or other objects which can break the pieces holding the charms on the bracelet. Daily wear puts the bracelet in constant danger of being broken. Even still, it’s only been a tiny fraction of the overall number of bracelets we have sold that experienced this issue, and we are happy to help those who have broken charms to get them repaired or replaced.
On that note, the ring is a completely different type of jewelery and does not suffer from the “dangly bit syndrome” as the bracelet does. It is a solid piece of jewelery and we do not expect to experience the same kind of problems that the we did with the bracelet.
3. Will there be a Sterling silver or white gold version of the ring?
As Mr. Spock was so fond of saying, “There are always possibilities.” While our resources at this time do not allow us to create these variants of the ring, we do see that there is a demand for them and will consider these options for future versions. We do thank those who have asked for bringing this question up.

Most of the Twilight fandom are teenagers, as it is a YA book, and it’s gonna look wierd i 14 year olds just walk around with rings. Besides, what will my boyfriend think?

I know it’s a novelty being Twilight endorsed, but I don’t think you’ll sell many of the genuine ones when you can get them at least $500 cheaper for a normal engagement ring.

Irene – I see your point. My counterpoint would be that you do not need to wear this ring on your left hand or on your wedding ring finger.
Gemmai – We are not a jewelery store, and as such, we don’t buy our diamonds in bulk like the people you are suggesting. The Genuine ring is a special order piece only, and would only be made when we actually get an order for one (we don’t cook it until you order it). Because of this, we cannot get the better pricing deals that your bulk jewelers can get, and so our pricing is higher. Yes, $2,199.00 is pricey. But, dude, we’re talking real diamonds here!
Amy – I’m sorry, no we don’t have any pictures yet. The only photos we did have were for the prototype and were only used to get Stephenie’s approval on the design. Those photos were not the greatest, and the prototype had some flaws in it that we needed to correct. We are not showing those photos to the public.
Call me silly but I don’t think that’s too expensive for a REAL DIAMOND ring…especially a custom made one. My engagement ring was about that price. And I totally agree, you don’t have to wear it on that specific finger. I know a lot of people who wear rings on their ring finger and they aren’t engaged. I’m just excited they’re finally making this! I’ve been waiting forever!
I don’t plan on getting the ring anytime soon, but I can’t wait to see a picture of it. I just got enough money for the bracelet, and I will get that (as soon as I can convince my mom to actually buy it- being 13, I don’t have a credit card.)
This is awesome – thanks for offering THE ring Stephenie designed for Bella! Right-hand rings are HUGE now, and that’s where I’m going to wear mine. As for the prices, you are right on the money in my opinion…considering the price of gold – even on the Fashion ring. I’ve paid a lot more on QVC and HSN for rings that are NOT gold and are certainly NOT the official Bella’s Engagement Ring! You guys rock!

Yesterday my friend and I went to Kansas City to one of her book tours. We got to get 2 books from the Twilight series signed. & we also got The Host signed. It was a good experience.
I would love to have the most expensive ring…

And Ladies, just to reiterate… this may be Bella’s engagement ring, but it doesn’t have to be yours. I have my engagement ring, the one I got from my fiance to wear as my engagement ring. I’m getting Bella’s to wear, on my other hand, as just a ring.
I think the prices aren’t too bad, actually. I was expecting more, so it’s a nice surprise.

The idea is nice, the prices for ALL of the different types are so bloated. The teens that are obsessed enough to spend their money on bloated replicas wont have enough to do so, and those that do could never justify that kind of expenditure.

I highly doubt anyone’s parents are going to buy them a real diamond ring. There are older women in the fandom so it’s just just 11 and 13 year olds running around with a diamond. I’m 24 years old. I think I’m perfectly old enough to be able to indulge in a nice piece of jewelry. And I’m going to copy and paste what I said on the Lexicon because I’m starting to get annoyed here…
I’m so sick of the constant “that ring is too expensive and overpriced†comments. Have any of you actually looked at real engagement rings? GOOD QUALITY starts at several hundred to over a thousand dollars. Most nicer ones are about two grand. Not to mention this is a specialty made and designed ring. They have to make up for the price of the materials, the time and process, etc. It is not overpriced, next time you’re in the mall check out prices for engagement rings or check out QVC and HSN (and those aren’t even custom made like this one!). Sure, I can’t afford the real diamond one, but I think it’s far from overpriced. I’ll probably end up with the CZ one. I’m sorry for this rant but I’m getting really ticked off at the way this fandom acts when something is given to us (not to mention approved by Stephenie Meyer herself) because God Forbid we have to pay more than twenty dollars for something of GOOD QUALITY endorsed by the author. Don’t kick a gift-horse in the mouth, at least we have someone willing to take the time to make these things. We could have nothing at all. And at very least, you can be happy that we’re finally going to see a picture of how Stephenie imagined the ring.
I will only address this issue one time – we have made the prices of the various versions of the ring at the absolute lowest we can. We’re not making cheap stuff, here. We’re talking solid 14K Gold and CZ or actual real diamonds for the Fine and Genuine versions. The Fashion version is 14K Gold-plated and Swarovski Rhinestones. And do I have to mention that this is a CUSTOM piece? We designed, sculpted, prototyped, and fabricated this ring in partnership with our jeweler manufacturer. It’s not inexpensive to do that.
I just want to give a thanks to you Brian and your wife and your jewelers and everyone else involved in the process. Honestly, after the way people complain and act, I would have stopped trying to be nice and make things. I think it’s incredible that you guys have been able to make the things you have. And I can’t wait to see new stuff in the future.

cool! i do think it is pricey and i probably won’t buy it, but i do understand that a real engagement ring is the same price. and even though some of you think nobody (meaning teenagers) are going to buy the real one-think again. have you ever seen my super sweet 16? but even though these are ‘gold and fine quality’ could you think about maybe releasing one that is like maybe around $30.0-40.00, that is silver with fake diamonds? that would still be good and the MORE of teens would be able to afford that one.

Well, guess which version all of the twelve-year-olds will get? Even so, I doubt that my parents will thoughtlessly shove $80 into my face. I couldn’t even convince them to buy me a Bella Bracelet; I had to make my own from plastic jewelry, a wolf printed penny, and florist wire. And a nail.
Still, most of the fan girls I know will save up for months to buy one of these, so keep the Fashion version up until, I don’t know, December?

Do you think there will be a sterling silver version available? I’m already married, but I’m a huge fan of the books, and my husband had recently mentioned buying me an additional ring, since we didn’t go with engagement rings to begin with. But, sadly, I do not wear gold. So, if you get sterling silver, you totally get my order. Probably just for the “costume jewelry” version, because, you know, gas is expensive and I kind of need that before I need jewelry. *kicks economy*

I have to say it’s cute idea…even my mom thought so when I old her. And I don’t think the price on the Genuine is too expensive (especially since my own fiancee spent $9,000.00 on my own engagement ring) I might buy one of either the Fashion or Fine rings since I’m “supposed” to be saving my money for when I move to Japan…
I can’t judge without a picture. If it is just a stone on a gold band then I would probably pass but if it’s something that I really like then who knows although it wouldn’t be the the last option only because I don’t have that much money to spend on something like this at the moment. Can you at least give us a date on when we might have a picture? Or any kind of timeline? Are you thinking this is a few weeks off or still months away? If I did get one I would definitely want the special edition.

When will photographs become available? I think that would probably increase fan interest in the product and would also give us all a better idea of what we’re in for.
Do we have any idea how long it will be until the ring is available? The word “soon” is quite nondescript. Will it be several weeks? A month or two? Longer than that? It would help my anxiety immensely to know how long I may have to wait… this is such an exciting and creative idea! I hope it is all going splendidly

if you have read my previous post where said twiloight fans were mostly 11-16, and you like twilight and are not in that age range, im sorry about that, i was just guessing because i don’t know any major twilight fans over 14, but i knew there were older ones i just didn’t know how old.

Hey y’all, i kno there are about a billion comments on here already, but i just have to say that this is amazing. Everyone in my grade at school is obsessed with these books. It helps that it’s an all-girls school, but still. I read the series in a week and i am so psyched for movie. I know that i am difinantly gonna go buy the ring and the bracelet. Unfortunantly, im still in middles school, so i can only get the fasion ring, but i think your prices are just right. I LOVE the Twilight series!!!!!!!!!! My dad said he might even be able to get my Breaking Dawn early!!!!! I go to an all girls school and all of my friends are simply in love with the Twilight Series.In between shopping,school, and reading TWILIGHT I will HAVE to get the genuine ring.

Hmmm…. this has serious potential, but I don’t feel like I can honestly answer the survey until I know what this will look like. I love pave’ (pah-vay, not pave like asphalt) rings and have been looking at them, and how fabulous would it be to have one for my birthday that had another meaning! But although I answered the survey, I can’t swear that I’ll be buying it until I know if I LIKE how it looks.
And what I wonder the most is, will this be the design that Stephenie first envisioned for it? Or just one that has that name so it will be cool and sell? I hope that’s answered when we get the real pictures up.
Oh, and as for those who are concerned about the prices: it’s evident that you haven’t ever had custom jewelry created. When I was shopping for a jeweler to create the wedding bands I had designed, there was only ONE that I found (in a three state radius!) who could create the product that I wanted without doing so at literally 300% of what the cost would be to buy it ready-made, if that was even possible. Designing and creating quality jewelry is a VERY expensive endeavor.
I think my heart just stopped.
I have also decided in lieu of this new product, I will be getting engaged.
I don’t even care to who, as long as that ring is on my finger.
See the cool thing about being an adult and loving SM is that I can afford the REAL ring! I love that you are doing this and I don’t think it’s too expensive for a custom made ring! Melissa – I certainly understand where you’re coming from. Not knowing what something looks like makes it hard to know if you’d want it. But let me say this about the ring design – we used the description in the book not just as inspiration, but as the blueprints. The ring would not have gotten Stephenie’s stamp of approval if it did not match up to her vision. That’s just how we do things, here.
I am excited for the ring. Again like many others have stated I will have to save… maybe even get a better job. My ‘Bella’s Bracelet’ broke, so I am still trying to get that one fixed =(. But I think the ring is a wonderful idea. I do hope though that they make a silver or white gold version. As for price… my high school ring (solid white gold with an aquamarine stone) was about $500. So it is reasonable for the ‘Fine’.

If I may suggest it, an option to purchase the Genuine ring without the center stone would do well, I believe. I already have a diamond from my wedding ring which I would carry over and, also, that is the only way to know and guarantee the clarity of the center stone being used.

For those interested in the genuine diamond don’t forget to check the clarity rating before you buy it. Brian, this is something that definitely needs to be included in the description not just the carat weight. I understand that you probably won’t be able to give a clarity rating for each diamond before purchase but the company that you are using should be able to identify a clarity range that all of the diamonds used for the rings will fall into i.e. SI2-VS2. For those not sure what a clarity rating is you should check out wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_clarity

Whenever you buy any diamond jewelry you need to make sure you get the clarity rating before you purchase it so that you understand the quality of the diamond you are getting. There are 11 different quality ratings for diamonds so it is definitely something you should understand before you buy a diamond anything. A lot of people are asking why teenagers would want to wear rings. I’m a teen and I wear two rings, one on each hand… one is my school ring, and the one on my left hand looks something like an engagement ring to some people, even if it doesn’t to me. I just think the ring would be nice, regardless of whether it looks like an engagement ring… especially when you could pair it with the bracelet. Which brings me to my next point: if there was a silver or white-gold version (silver would be nice =]), it would match with Bella’s Bracelet. You could have a whole matching collection! =] Anyway, those are just my thoughts, and I really like that the ring is being made.

I know this is probably a long shot (looooooooong), but what are the odds of a miniature in the form of a charm? I’ll understand if rather than answer you just stare at me blankly. I suppose it would largely depend on the size of the diamonds and even more largely depend on whether or not you feel like going to the trouble. I can patiently await pictures and invest in metal clay.
If you want to get the ring…go all out and get the SE Genuine! This may end up to be a one time only thing! If it disappears in six months…you’re all gonna wish you’d bought it! You might have to take three jobs…but think about it, in all the world how many people are gonna buy the SE Genuine??? 50…100…200??? Even if it is 500 what are the odds that you’ll ever meet someone with that same ring??? Not very good!

The kids will get the fashion ring but others… I’m so glad the ring is yellow gold.. Think about it- Edward and Elizabeth Masen would have been married in 1890 something, and white gold was not en vogue! AS far as cost- these are perfect and even a little bit of a bargain! My custom jewlry was very costly, and my simple 1ct solitaire engag. ring was $2500 (It was $5000 @ the mall-we went through a diamond broker!) These are SO exciting! Angela – It’s there. This is the very ring that Stephenie describes in her book. It’s exactly as described, but the materials differ depending on which version of the ring you buy.
For everyone who is wondering; this is not our interpretation of the ring. Stephenie was involved in the design from concept to finished product. She would not have given us permission to create this ring if it didn’t match with her vision. This is as close as we can get to what she envisioned for the ring without actually doing some kind of Vulcan mind meld, or something.

Do you have any information on the quality/cut/authenticity of the diamonds? I should think that would be VERY important information for anyone making the decision to buy the ‘Genuine’ ring. Specifically, what are the shape, CLARITY, cut and COLOR of these diamonds? Are they certified by the GIA Diamond Grading Report or do they have an AGSL Diamond Quality Document?
Perhaps you should include a link for first time diamond-buyers to be educated on what to look for in a diamond and include information on the diamonds in the ring? (When you get it, if you don’t already have it.) Of course, it’s not your responsibility to make sure the buyers know exactly what they’re getting…but it would be the right thing to do, yes? Thank you for your time and consideration.
Wow. I’m so excited for the Breaking Dawn and the movie, that having the ring will make the whole Twilight world seem more realistic. The prices are great too. I’m so sick of the constant “that ring is too expensive and overpriced†comments. Have any of you actually looked at real engagement rings? They have to make up for the price of the materials, the time and process, etc. It is not overpriced, next time you’re in the mall check out prices for engagement rings or check out QVC and HSN (and those aren’t even custom made like this one!). Sure, I can’t afford the real diamond one, but I think it’s far from overpriced. I’ll probably end up with the CZ one. I’m sorry for this rant but I’m getting really ticked off at the way this fandom acts when something is given to us (not to mention approved by Stephenie Meyer herself) because God Forbid we have to pay more than twenty dollars for something of GOOD QUALITY endorsed by the author. Don’t kick a gift-horse in the mouth, at least we have someone willing to take the time to make these things. We could have nothing at all. And at very least, you can be happy that we’re finally going to see a picture of how Stephenie imagined the ring.”
I have to completely agree with everything she said. Making custom made rings is not cheap. Especially since it probably won’t be available in the jewelry stores it’s not that bad. And considering that high school class rings cost about as much if not more than the “fashion” ring, it’s not that bad of a price. As for the “genuine” version of the ring, what do you people expect for a “14K Gold with 1.20 tcw Diamonds” ring. Like Lesley said egagement rings that a guy would purchase in the store costs around that much because of the quality. In case you guys haven’t noticed, diamonds aren’t cheap. I’ll be 21 this year and my mom is getting me a cross necklace (tradition, she gave one to my sister for her 18th b-day but there were personal issues then) and the cheapest one I’ve seen that was cute and had real diamonds (at least I think they’re real) is for $99 and that’s “on sale”. Come on people use your heads.
Anyway, I personally liek that they are going to do this. It’s great to have something that is from my favorite book/favorite author. (Sorry it was so long)
I think it’s such a great idea. It’s tangible evidence of fiction, just like making a movie of the book. It would look nice next to my Evenstar and Lightsaber.:) I actually just finished reading the series again last night, and it turns out the picture I had in my head of the ring is way Samsonite off. Apparently I didn’t read the description very well the first 4 times I read it. So I can’t wait to see what it looks like! Thanks guys for making it.
I really wanted to get my ring size but the ring sizer wasn’t loading up. Said that the file couldn’t be repaired. I don’t mind driving 30miles to the nearest ‘reliable’ jeweler but this would be more convinient.
I can’t wait until I buy this ring. For practical purposes, I would buy the Fine ring but I would love to buy the genuine. I’ll save that for when I get a boyfriend and he proposes to me. This ring will be my ‘class ring’ since I didn’t buy one.
Jazzypants – Are you certain that you have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer? The ring sizer document is a PDF and requires at least the Reader program in order to be displayed.

Hi. It’s really interesting to read all of these comments. Personally, while people may find it pricey, I think it’s totally worth it. I absolutely loved the Twilight series, as many do, and I think anything associated with it is completely awesome, and I want to thank everyone who didn’t think it was below them and a waste of their time to recreate something from a book that means a lot to a lot of people. While I may not be able to get any of these soon, I definately will get them sometime.
O_o wow i never realized the age group for this. I think the prices are great. My coworkers are aready wanting the ring or bracelet. I got them all to read the books this month :: snickers :: i think my twilight book has lost its binding now.
We range from 18-40 so we know those prices are good. I’m scured which version each person will get hehe cause they are all obessed now. Each time they all finish a book they stop work and say “twilight discussion!” lol I’m pondering the second one myself in special edition, seems nice. Not sure. I think i’ll wait and think about it.
I am really excited! I can’t wait to see what it looks like. But i won’t be able to get one. I think it would be cool though. I am only fourteen so it’s no big deal but the though of wearing something based upon a gift from edward is enough to send sparks thru my heart! I have the bracelet though and it rocks!
