You Are Not Forgotten Stephenie Meyer
|
I speak not as the owner/operator/resident funnyman for Twilight Teez, but as a U.S. Citizen and supporter of a free world. As a child, I never really understood how important our soldiers are to our country. I always knew that there was something about them that was to be honored and that they served a key roll providing me with the ability to ride my bicycle in peace, and play with my friends without fear, and basically live my life in total blissful ignorance of what the rest of the world had to face. But I never really truly understood the kind of sacrifices these valiant men and women make to allow me to pursue my dreams.
To be honest, it’s a life that I could never be a part of, myself. As much as I like to think that I’d make a good soldier, I just don’t think I’m cut out for military life. But I honor those who are. Now that I’m an adult and working on an Army post and surrounded by people who did/do serve our country, I am far more aware of the things that these men and women do for us. The incredible sacrifices that these people make are beyond my imagination. The time away from their families, and the hardships that many of them have to endure, just so I can continue to sit here on my rump and write this blog entry. Our soldiers, especially those deployed to the front lines, are out there worrying about whether or not they will come home and see their spouses and children again. Sometimes it makes my concerns seem so…trivial. I am forever grateful for the service they have put in for us. Thank you to all who serve.
Today is POW/MIA Remembrance Day. And so I take this time to offer my own small tribute to those who served and never came home. You are noble and valiant people. I, for one, will never forget.

250,000 And Counting! The Blog
|
Sometime over the course of the night of September 15, 2007, our 250,000th visitor stopped by our store. This is unbeleivable in my eyes. Truthfully, I never considered that we would be so successful. Since opening our doors on January 25 of this year, we have received over 3,600 orders, and we are well on our way to fulfilling that number. We receive more every day, and this is wonderful for not only us but for Stephenie’s fans, as well. We’ve hit a few bumps in the road, not the least of which was the unexpected early birth of our fifth child, but I personally feel like we’ve done pretty well over all. I don’t think that it’s a small feat that a married couple with five children have pushed out over 3,000 orders in only nine months. And to think this is just a part-time gig for me. I am a bit nervous to find out what happens when I am finally able to put my full effort into this business. Of course, Sharon’s been doing that from day one.
But despite our efforts, we couldn’t have done this without all of you, our very special customers. But you’re more than just customers to us, though. Many of you have become good friends, and we like it that way.
So it is with a full heart that my wife and I thank all of you, our friends, for your patronage. Many of you have been very patient with us over this course. That goes a long way with us. We know that we haven’t been able to please all of our customers, and this disturbs us to no end (something we’ll simply have to learn to live with). For those who have been very happy with our service and products, we are very glad that we could be of service to you. For those who have been disappointed or even angry with us, please accept our humble apologies. We hope that we will be able to prove to you sometime that we truly are good people and a good business and that our only desire is to provide Stephenie’s fans with the best t-shirts and other products that we can.
This has been an incredible ride for us, and we hope to keep it going for some time to come. We’ve learned huge gonzo gobs of stuff about business and online commerce. We’ve got plans for new products in the very near future. We’re currently trying to get a new line of hoodies with the Fan Club designs in place, and we are trying to finalize details to get Daymond Hoffman’s other designs in his Vampitude series on shirts and available to you. We are also looking at getting some other product types in place: bumper and other types of stickers, etc. So keep visiting as we you never know when we’ll be putting up something new.
So again, we thank you all so much for your patronage and patience as we learn this new thing we call Twilight Teez.

The Force Is Strong With Bella And Edward News, Twilight Images
|
Even The Galactic Empire isn’t immune to the allure of Bella and Edward’s story.

The most notorious bounty hunter of them all sneaks a read just before taking off to catch Han Solo.

Note: Both of these images come to us from the Little Brown Books photo stream on Flickr. These pictures were taken at Comic Con International 2007. I do not know who the original photographer is, and I admit these photos are used here without permission. The copyright belongs to the original copyright holder. If you are the owner of these photos and wish for me to take them down, please let me know.
Update: Okay, closer inspection of these photos shows that the “book” these two are reading isn’t the real Twilight novel. The Stormtrooper’s book shows images of all three books on the back cover, and the spine is too narrow. Boba’s book shows that there’s only a few pages to it. So obviously this is some kind of promotional material. Can anyone tell me what it is, and if it’s available to the public?
