Twilight Teez on the Twilight DVD

categories The Blog, The Store, Twilight Books, Twilight Merchandise, Twilight Movie

Well, geez, how long has it been since I last posted? It’s been particularly hard for me to write lately because, frankly, there’s not much to say right now. We’re on board with a lot of things, but we can’t really say much here because…let’s face it, I’ve said a lot of things that haven’t happened, yet. I’ve said we’ve got shirts from The Host coming up soon, but we haven’t put them up, yet. I’ve said we’ve got Dave Barry shirts coming up soon, but we haven’t put them up, yet. It’s hard to keep saying we’ve got a lot of things coming up and then have to delay the execution of those things because of small problems that keep cropping up.

The shirts for The Host are our most complex yet, which have caused a number of small issues to crop up each time we’ve sent them to manufacturing. I think it’s safe to say that we have solved the problems we have faced and are ready to launch two of our three designs that we’ve had approved. The third is not far behind.

Dave Barry is soon to launch, too. Again, if you don’t know who Dave Barry is by now, shame on you. I have been touting him for years. Go visit his web site at www.davebarry.com to learn more about him.

Another reason I haven’t posted much lately is because, darn it, it takes energy to write. I’ve been focusing a lot of my work on getting us ready for AccioCon in the next couple of weeks. We’re looking forward to it a lot, and we hope that many of you will give it a go. We also have our other events planned, TwiCon of course, coming up in July, as well as the Summer School In Forks event in June. Check them out on our Events page.

I am sorry for not writing sooner. I know, I’ve been meaning to, and I know that many of you have asked why no updates. I don’t really have much of an excuse except for the fact that (a) there really hasn’t been much news to report and (b) I’m lazy as heck. I am also sorry for not checking up on your comments to get them approved if, for whatever reason, they end up in the moderation queue.  Forgive me for not keeping up on that.

But there is one small minute note I’d like to point out. Twilight Teez appears on the Twilight DVD Special Features disc. My wife and myself are in the Comic-Con video. If you have the DVD, you can see us almost every time they show the audience. Let me tell you, it’s very bizarre to see yourself on such a mass distribution product. It’s cool, but bizarre.

Twilight Teez In The News

categories Dave Barry, News, Stephenie Meyer, The Store, Twilight Books, Twilight Movie

Twilight Teez has been getting a little bit of press, lately.  This is always a good thing for a business, even if it’s bad press.  Fortunately for us, it’s been very very good.

First, we’ve been featured on our local newspaper, The Sierra Vista Herald, for a second time.  The article can be found here:

Couple’s business boosted by success of ‘Twilight’

And today, we were interviewed by KOLD 13 News on our local CBS affiliate, which technically isn’t local to Sierra Vista but it’s local enough for us.  KOLD is located in Tucson, AZ, which is about 75 miles northwest and about 21.25 times the size of our little berg.  The video can be found on their web site, linked below.  Sorry, but you’ll have to wait through about a 30-second ad for something.

Twilight Craze Hits Southern Arizona

Finally, we would like to let y’all know that we will be featured on The Today show here in the coming days (or weeks).  We’ll let you know when as soon as we do.  While we’re not going to be ON the show, one of our products will be.  We can’t say which product, just now.  Keep your eyes open.

Twilight Teez Movie Pictures

categories Twilight Books, Twilight Movie

As I said earlier, Mrs. Schadeboy and I went to go see the Twilight movie during a midnight showing last Thursday.  We went to the Megaplex 20 in the Salt Lake City area (can’t remember exactly which city we were actually in).  Here are some photos from the event.

The theater in which we witnessed history.

Here is a photo of some of the peopel waiting to get into the prom party that was being held prior to the movie showing.  Notice the Twilight movie poster in the back.  You could have your picture taken there for a mere $10.00.  Like a sort-of red carpet thing, you know?

More folks waiting in line for the prom.  Note, not everyone wore prom equipment.

The two images above show a group of folks who were selling a number of Twilight-related items, and had several contests going.  The prizes included Bella’s Engagement Ring and Bella’s Bracelet.

Mrs. Schadeboy happily shelled out some dough to sport the latest in Twilight-related apparel.

So that was our experience.  As we said, we loved the movie.  Mrs. Schadeboy has been listening to the soundtrack over and over and over for the last four days.  She and I have already made it our intention to take our two oldest children to see the show very soon.  Maybe even this coming weekend.

I’m glad to hear that New Moon is being made.  That will only serve to keep the Twilight phenom going for at least another year.

Twilight Movie Update

categories Twilight Movie

My wife and I had the opportunity to attend a midnight premiere of the Twilight Movie.  I don’t have time right now to post anything significant about it right now, as I am about to go to a conference.  But I do have time to say that the movie did not disappoint.  I’ll post a complete synopsis of the event leading up to the premiere (with photos) along with my commentary on the movie itself later.  There will be no spoilers, and I ask that we hold off on posting spoilers here until everyone’s had a chance to see the movie.

Update: I’m sure this doesn’t come as a shock to anyone, but I thought I’d mention that New Moon has been officially green-lit by Summit Entertainment.  I’m sure you already knew about this, but as with many things like this, I don’t care.

Comic-Con Update

categories Geek, Stephenie Meyer, The Blog, Twilight Movie

Today was day one at Comic-Con.  Sharon and I were part of the 6 billion-strong crowd of squealing Twilight fans that packed the room.  I am happy to say that I was not, in fact, squealing like a little girl.  Guys do not do that.

I am extremely tired at this point, and am not able to think coherently enough to post a truly witty and insightful recap of the days events.  I will say this, though; it was amazing to be able to see the cast and crew of the movie.  They also played an extended version of the fight sequence between James and Edward in the dance studio.  Let me tell you, it was AWESOME!  This movie is going to ROCK!

I video taped the panel discussion and question and answer session, but I don’t have a way of transferring the video to my ‘puter and subsequently to YouTube for viewing.  And because I was busy video taping, and my wife was busy swooning and being a regular fanchick during that time, we don’t have any still photos.  But never fear! We have photos of us in and around the rest of Comic-Con.  To your incredible relief, I will post them here.

Sharon at Comic-Con 2008
Here’s Sharon standing in front of a Comic-Con International sign.  The box contains shirts and two bracelets which were given as gifts to the cast and crew of the movie.

Who you gonna call?
The first group of folks that we saw inside the exhibition hall were these guys.  They were advertising the new Ghostbusters game.  Who you gonna call?

Believe it or not, the stormtrooper is a woman.  But what was truly surprising was that Boba Fett was a Wookie!

If you’re a gamer, then you no doubt know who these guys are.  If you’re not a gamer, or you are one and don’t know about Pure Pwnage (pronounced ownage), then you are such a noob.  Let me tell you, there is nothing cooler than being called a noob by Teh Pwnerer.  FPS Doug is my favorite character, though.

That’s it, so far.  We’re meeting with Hot Topic and the merchandising manager for Summit Entertainment tomorrow.  We don’t know exactly what the outcome will be, but we are looking forward to the meeting very much.  We’ll post updates as we get them.

Random Stargate SG-1/Twilight Commonality

categories Twilight Movie

I was reading through the most recent blog post of everyone’s favorite Mike and came across an interesting statement. He says

A fella named Larry Carroll did the interview and he was cooler than Billy Dee Williams (let’s see if anyone connects the dots on THAT reference).

As everyone knows (or at least SHOULD know), Billy Dee Williams played Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars Episodes V and VI. So I was curious to know what connection there was. I decided to start with everyone’s favorite Internet movie database, IMDB.com. Although I haven’t yet found the connection with Billy Dee Williams, I did find an interesting connection to everyone’s favorite television show dealing with stargates,;Stargate SG-1.

Turns out, Mike played a young Colonel Jack O’Neill in an episode of the show. The episode, in sum, dealt with alien abductions and cloning. Mike played a cloned O’Neill that didn’t quite fully mature, and so left him at the tender age of 15 with all of the memories of the real Jack O’Neill in tact.

Let me tell you, if Mike does as good a job in the Twilight movie playing Mike as he did playing the spitting image (character wise) of Jack O’Neill, this movie’s going to be AWESOME.

Don’t believe me about the connection? Check out Mike’s IMDB page.

This has been your Stargate SG-1/Twilight Commonality post.

Twilight: The Books, The Author, And The Movie

categories The Store, Twilight Books, Twilight Movie

(if you’re looking for information about Bella’s Bracelet, you can find it in the previous two posts below)

In the comments for the post that answers questions about the bracelet, we are starting to get a number of people making assumptions about Twilight Teez.  I think it’s time to clarify a few thing:

1 – Twilight Teez is not run by Stephenie Meyer.

Our story is told on the About Us page of our store site.  However I will summarize it here.  My wife, Sharon, and I started this business in response to the demand for Stephenie’s t-shirts.  We worked directly with Stephenie to start this business, and she has total control over the designs and on what shirts they go on.  However, Stephenie does not partake in the actual day-to-day activities of the shop, nor do we have any ability to forward any messages on to her from our customers.  Comments such as "I love your books!" and "You are an inspiration to me!" are not seen by her unless she happens to stop by this blog or our forums and read through them.  If you have anything to say to her, please say it on the fansites that she frequents.  The official fansite is the Twilight Lexicon.  She does read through that site regularly, and you have more of a chance of her seeing your comments over there than here (at least as far as I am aware).

2 – Twilight Books

Twilight Teez is not set up in any way to sell books of any kind accept through our Amazon affiliate links.  Therefore, if you are looking to buy Stephenie’s books, you will not find them here.  Especially if you want signed copies.  Your best bet for those is to order them online from Changing Hands bookstore.  If you live anywhere in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, you can go visit them live and in person.

3 – The Twilight Movie

Twilight Teez has absolutely, without any question, no information about the Twilight Movie.  We are so far removed from the entire movie making process that we are just as in the dark about things as anyone else.  The only thing we do know is that there will be some restrictions now on what products we can offer related to the Twilight series.  For example, except for what we already have in our store and the designs for the recent character contest that Stephenie held, we will not be able to make any other products that are directly derived from the first book of the Twilight series.

So we cannot provide you with any answers to questions such as "Are they holding open auditions for the movie" or "Who is playing Edward?"  The most we know is what has already been officially announced.  Stephenie will keep us all up to date on her web site.

I hope this post doesn’t sound snitty or snooty or whatever.  I just thought I should make one big post to answer these questions so that everyone can promptly ignore it.
