We are glad to say our site is back online, but I am sad to report that we are not yet able to offer Bella’s Engagement RingTM.  The reasons are somewhat technical and I’m not so certain that anyone wants to know that stuff anymore, anyway.  What you all seem to want to know is as much information about the ring as possible.  So I’m going to give it to you…again…right here, right now.  Pricing, descriptions, differences between Classic and Signature, etc.  The information below is to be considered final and the most accurate.

When our new, high-end web server becomes available, we will offer the rings at 10% off their regular prices for 1 week.  The prices shown in red, below, are the sale prices.

Status Update

One of the most frustrating parts about being an IT professional is having to wait for someone else to do something you know you could do faster.  That’s where I am right now, playing the waiting game while someone else gets my server ready.  As of this moment, even with expedited status, our newest server is still not within my control.  If we only had the resources to host our own web site here at our new warehouse.  But alas, that is not the case.

Because of this, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to offer Bella’s Engagement Ring for sale at noon July 20.  It’s postponed until we can better guarantee a time frame.  I wish I could be more definite, and I know there are several jillion of you who are very disappointed, have made arrangements for friends, family, and even arch enemies to wait for you so that the moment the ring is available you can get one.  I’m so sorry for this mess.  It is of extreme importance to us to get this site operational again.    Trust me, we have lost sleep over the issue.  I promise that we will get this site back online as soon as possible.

Again, I am personally taking responsibility for this, and I am very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment so many of you are facing.  Check the link immediately below this one for more information about the ring itself.  Until then, bear with us and we’ll make this happen.  I just hope you all feel that it was worth this inconvenience.

It’s Happened Again

I thought I had this licked.  Once again, I grossly underestimated the demand this was going to cause.  Our database server was overwhelmed and could not handle the number of individual connections that were being called for.  I ask once again for your patience.  I know that our credibility may be going down the tubes, but I truly did not understand the demand for Bella’s Engagement Ring.  I offer my most humble apologies for this inconvenience.  Please forgive me and Twilight Teez and we so appreciate your continued patience.

We will need to push our Bella’s Engagement Ring one more time.  The new launch date and time is as follows:

Q. How much does the ring cost?

The rings have three different price points, depending on which version you buy.  They are as follows:

Q. What’s the difference between Signature and Classic Editions?

The primary differences are the Signature Edition (SE) rings are limited to 613 pieces and contain a certificate of authenticiy personally signed by Stephenie Meyer.  The SE rings will not be offered again once they are sold out.  They are true heirloom pieces that are registrable.

The Classic Edition rings will be sold on-going.

Q. Is there a difference in design between the Fashion, Fine, and Genuine rings?

No.  The designs are exactly the same.  There is a difference in materials, however.  All three versions have the same exact designs, and no sacrifice has been made.

Before I go on, let me address one thing - when we said 12:00 NOON (MST) on July 19, we really meant that.  Arizona does not believe in Daylight Savings Time, so 12:00 Noon in Arizona is 12:00 Noon on the west coast, 1:00 PM in places like Utah and Idaho, 2:00 PM in places like Texas, Alabama, and iowa, and 3:00 PM for you folks on the east coast.  I don’t know what else I can say to help out, except to link to this map here.

An Explanation As To What Happened

You know the feeling you get when you’re at the top of the first major hill of a rollercoaster, and you’re looking down to the bottom and realize that you have got to be at least a gajillion miles in the air, and you just ate a ginormous hotdog and it’s now about to come up, and it’s right there at the back of your throat with the rest of the contents of your stomach?

I’ve been feeling like that for that past 24 hours.

The rollercoaster has finally bottomed out, but with Bella’s Engagment Ring still forthcoming (more on that in a moment) there still may be more large hills to come.

Here’s a brief explanation as to what happened and why we were not able to offer the ring at our originally planned time.  Turns out, at 5:40 PM Thursday (July 17), we received an inordinant amount of traffic.  Our server’s memory resources were maxed out.  And for those of you who are computer geeks, you know that when you max out a computer’s memory resources you are pretty much left with these guys.

Fortunately, the Twilight Teez crack IT Department was on the case!

Thanks to the miracle of modern technology, and crack tech support gurus Brian and Chad at our hosting company, we worked through the night to figure out what the issues were and what we needed to do to fix the problem.

The problem: too many people wanting to view information about Bella’s Engagement Ring and when it would be released.  Now, from a business standpoint, there is no such thing as too many people being interested in your wares. But when your web site server has the processing capacity of flava beans, it’s not good.  The problem effected the entire site, including this blog.  That’s one of the reasons I couldn’t communicate anything to y’all.

The solution: move to a new server…again.  Geez, how many times have we been through this?  We have now moved the web site to a full, dedicated server.  We are the only web site on this server, and we have full access to all of the components on it.  Nobody is sharing with us, which should be a great help.

I’m not going to go into the technical details.  Suffice it to say that we spent tha past 24 hours purchasing, moving to, and configuring a new server from our host provider, and the site is now fully functional on it.  It is now ready to accept orders.

Now, in regards to Bella’s Engagement Ring TM, we’re going to take this nice and slow.  First, let me apologize to all of those who have been waiting patiently for the site to come back up.  We are going to postpone the release of the ring unti noon (MST) on July 19, 2008.  This should give everyone a chance to come back and order the ring they want.  Thsi will also give us a chance to finalize any last minute ring-related things that we couldn’t finish due to the server crash.  So, in case you missed it the first time, here it is again.

Twilight Teez Is Experiencing Technical Difficulties

Several improvements have been made to the ring design since it was first described in detail in this blog post, so I am going to repost the details of the rings here.

First off, let me explain the difference between the Classic Edition and Signature Edition of the rings.
